ECC Registration By registering now, you’ll ensure that your organization is one of the first to receive the many member benefits to be offered by the ECC. The best value from a collaborative comes from the broad participation of its members, so the ECC is working hard to grow its membership. To encourage no-risk participation this first year as the member benefits are being developed – you can join for free! The ECC Common Ground has been developed to provide a shared foundation for the work each member organization does and to help members gain influence through collectively speaking with one unified voice concerning the over-arching global priorities. As a member you’re affirming the ECC Common Ground statement of consensus listed below. The ECC Common Ground will be reviewed periodically by member organizations and may be revised through an inclusive collaborative process. ECC Common Ground: Current and future generations depend on nature and ecosystem services to provide the conditions for a decent, healthy, and secure life. The loss of services derived from ecosystems is the most significant barrier today to achieving globally sustainable human wellbeing. Our collective efforts must be focused to reverse this loss. The ECC also supports the Lisbon Principles for sustainable governance and resource management. Natural resource use should: 1) be fair and responsible; 2) have management of appropriate space and time scales; 3) include the precautionary principle, erring on the side of caution in the face of uncertainty; 4) apply adaptive management as conditions change and new information comes to light; 5) account for full environmental and social costs in market prices; 6) be inclusive of all stakeholders by providing opportunities for participation.
